“Google is the mother of Artificial Intelligence.”
? Khalid Masood
Google is the most popular search engine. It is part of our day to day life. Many of us now don’t even imagine living without Google. More than a search engine it is an email service, a web browser, payment application and many more. But do you ever think we got almost every service free from it then how it earns money?
Google is an advertising company and its biggest product is you, the user. The company controls almost 90 percent of the search market in the UK, and almost 96 percent of Google’s revenue still comes from advertising. Every day the site returns 1 billion search results globally and serves up billions of ads alongside. The secret to success is in the scale of its operation.
We can even imagine how Google can earn that much from ads. Now we all have questioned which type of ads? Google earns from Google ad word. When you use Google to search for anything from financial information to local weather, you’re given a list of search results generated by Google’s algorithm. The algorithm attempts to provide the most relevant results for your query, and, along with these results, you may find related suggested pages from an Ad Words advertiser.
Ad word can show ads on every platform of Google such as email, maps, search engines, and so on. When we open these applications we find some recommended sites or ads. These ads are paying the fee for per click. When we search we see the sites according to our search some sites on it have ad written in starting their website mostly these sites are present in starting. This type of an ad sites pays for every click. I mean to say that Ad Sense ads work similarly to Google’s onsite advertising but displayed on Google-approved sites anywhere on the Internet.
Ad Words brings in roughly 70 percent of the company’s advertising revenue. We take an example of Google maps. For example, a search for a map of Delhi on Google.com would yield, among other things, a detailed map of the city via Google Maps. The Maps program allows users to zoom in and out and move the map to search neighboring areas. Along the right side of the search results screen there are several advertisements for Delhi-based businesses, hotels, restaurants, and links to other sites selling hard-copy maps of the city. This type of paid advertising is the primary way in which Google earns its revenue.
Google also earn revenue from Google Ad-sense in this a company holding a website can request to place an advertisement on their website. Google adds some ads to it and whenever someone clicks on it Google pays for it and sites with a lot of traffic give a lot of profit to Google too. Google kills two birds with one stone.
The company dominates the mobile market, licensing out its Android operating system for free, but making a large profit from the venture through search traffic, display ads and a percentage of every Play Store sale.
"We believe If users get what they want, get what they're looking for ... then they're going to keep coming back to look for more things," Nayak says, "and we send more traffic to the Web and we keep the Web ecosystem healthy.
